Welcome to the Flying Diamond

The Adams Family has been running cattle on the Flying Diamond Ranch since 1978. We are pleased to offer beef directly from our ranch, brought from cattle who spend their entire lives grazing our mountains and fields. Our management practices are wholesome and our finished beef is prime.

Our Cattle

We responsibly raise all-natural Black Angus beef that consistently delivers the best-tasting, highest-quality product on the market.

Both land and livestock are managed using fully sustainable practices, ensuring we remain faithful stewards of what we've been given. Flying Diamond does not take shortcuts disguised as progress; we remain anchored to our core values—humanely treated, grass-fed and grain-finished Black Angus, never exposed to antibiotics, steroids, or added hormones. Our intentional process honors the animal and serves those who expect nothing less than excellence when they raise their fork.

Our Ranch

At the Flying Diamond Ranch, we’re not just running a successful local cattle ranching operation; we also offer diverse outfitting, wedding, and event services. Through innovative land and agricultural practices, our family-owned businesses work together to optimally manage and preserve our land.

For generations, the Adams family has been a pillar of the Routt County community and a champion of land conservation. Long before environmental concerns became mainstream, the Adams were instrumental in preserving significant local lands for public enjoyment and natural preservation. Our family has consistently demonstrated leadership in ranching, land conservation, and wildlife habitat protection, contributing to the preservation of open spaces and preventing development on thousands of acres.

Notable contributions from our family include facilitating the Forest Service Land Exchange to open the Sarvis Creek Wilderness Area for public access, land sales for the creation of Stagecoach Lake and State Park, and a land trade that made Fish Creek Falls publicly accessible, safeguarding it from development. This site, a vision of our family, has become one of the top tourist destinations in Steamboat Springs and Colorado.

Our love for Colorado’s lands, open spaces, and responsible land management is a proud part of our heritage. Over the last twenty years, the Adams family has partnered with organizations like Colorado Cattlemen's Agriculture Land Trust, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to conserve parts of the Flying Diamond Ranch.
